It is fake. This is an official press message from Nintendo: Big things to come in small package Nintendo, the world leader in video game innovation, stated loud and clear that they are not to be overlooked in the next generation home console race with the revelation of several unique features of th...

Looks totally good! Cant wait to see this.

I've asked this earlier, but are you still not planning to implement 8-way scrolling? Everything other then that looks perfect.

Nice initiative. My (university) professors' tutorial is also freely downloadable. I think its pretty good if you're an absolute beginner in programming. Its the first course we get at uni. Dutch version (PDF): http://www.cs.uu.nl/docs/vakken/imp/diktaat/imp.pdf English version (DOC): http://www.cs....

There's still pretty much to be done, for example: - inter-object collisions (e.g. shell-shell) - sloped surfaces - lots more items - more upgrades Especially after applying sloped surfaces, things _will_ be slower. By the way, you may find some code for sloped surfaces already. I was working on it ...

Hmm, well it would be cool if someone would pick up the code. He would earn my deep respect though, since I didnt comment the code much. The well-named function calls may help to understand the structure though.

I also feel what you're going through, Kozak. I'm doing a Bachelor in Computer Science which I'll finish in one or 1,5 years. I think that the field is quite interesting, and I enjoy programming from time to time. The problem is: I like programming as a hobby: being able to program what I like to, a...

Motivation and time. On university its not like school anymore... Too much things to do, too much people to keep in touch with, too much of managing my own life.

I'll have some time every now and then, but as long as I'm not working on this anymore I'll call it discontinued.

Duck:No, you really wouldn't. The 86 have an lcd refresh rate to, so faster makes no difference. The pixels dont update instantly. Would you call smart blending dithering in a way. It does add noise to smooth out the image. Just not in the same way. Okay, dithering, whatever. And about the refresh ...

Well, it would suffice to let an interrupt swap buffer pointers (if the driver supports a pointer), and run this routine on the highest frequency possible. This wouldnt garble (smart blend) the pixels though like Jim's or my routine, but I wonder if you would need it with such a high freq. I heard t...

Nice emulator CoBB! It mimicks the LCD very well! I tried Mario and it looked strange at first because it generated all kinds of weird single pixels. Its quite logical though, its just two subsequent frames with each a horizontal- and vertical row crossing each other, generating this stuff. Somethin...

Ah, well sliperiness is adjustable by changing some constant. Ever played SMB3? When running and then suddenly turning direction, you'll slip 3 tiles or so. Quite much. Indeed nice to see you again Calvin! Has been some time. Have you spoken Chickendude lately? Havent seen him in a (very!) long whil...

The first thing I did when I started experimenting with the GPP is ripping out that ugly frequency option at the beginning of a program :). No offence Duck, but that was one ugly menu ;) Yea I know it was ugly. But back then, it was quite small (75 lines), and does quite much (show a line, clear pa...

Well I thought about doing it, made the feature once but I think I let it out because it added too much code, and I couldnt manage to let the contrast level be set back correctly after program shutdown. I dont like programs that mess with my contrast.
