Chip's Challenge

Post by shadowing »

Well, since Jedd posted this in the old forum, I decided to restart this.

Chip's Challenge is basically a game where you control the main character, Chip in order to collect all the chips and unlock the warp to the next level. Along the way, you need to collect items and dodge enemies.

Me and BlackenedRaiser from UTI are both working on this.

Currently, the whole thing needs to be made. Post comments. and suggestions.

Greyscale would be nice. I never played CC so I don't have any other ideas :P .

I loved that game, even though i was never able to beat it.....level 19 darn't!. I think it was on some of the older windows computers, because its not on my Sony windows XP. I guess you could sort of compare it to desolate. Thats a pretty difficult under taking. Good luck! I couldn't imagine how you would get it to fit on a z80 calculator, especially in greyscale. just too many levels.................

Forgot to add the small details you all mentioned.

It's for the TI-83 Plus.
I dunno about greyscale. It will all depend on how well i could code it.

and IT WILL BE IN ASM!!!

Hope that answered a lot of questions.

Are you thinking of using the original levels, or will you make your own? I'm not sure which I would prefer, but I think you should at least have most or all of the same tiles as the original.

If you want to use the original levels, you might want to consider writing a program to extract the data from the original game (like from http://www.telusplanet.net/public/nfiel ... ccfile.htm ) into a level editor. Well, it might not be a good idea as you may want to make the levels smaller.

OK, seriously, BlackenedRaiser is currently porting the original levels. He'll give me the whole schematics and I'll try my best to port it.
