Super Mario problem
Since a couple of months, when i start playing Mario on my TI84+SE, the game starts to lag and go up and down.
The graphics are really bad.
Does anybody know what the problem is and what i can do about this?
thx in advance

Do you mean that your LCD is going a bit crazy when playing? Garbled or dancing?
This could mean that you are one of the many lucky people with a crappy LCD driver.
Thankfully your chances of fixing this are pretty good thanks to Jim e, you can download his LCDFix program here:

you run it once and it should fix it. However, if your RAM gets cleared, you will have to run it again. You don't have to run it every time you run mirage.
Also, have you considered using a better shell than mirage os? CrunchyOS will run all mirage, ion, assembly, and basic programs, it causes less wear to your archive(which can wear out), it supports compressed programs, if a program crashes it will not clear the ram or corrupt the program, and it doesn't cause garbage collects all the time like mirage does. Here is a link to crunchyos, written by our own Dwedit.

Mostly it would stay unless you yank the batteries or have a bad crash. It's small so just leave it in the archive or atleast a group.
Again with crunchyOs? Well I may have a valid point to add to it this time. I don't know what license crunchyos is under, but generally when I release code it should be considered gpl or bsd(depending on whats being done). So Its completely alright to put that code into any shell you want. Infact I wanted ask Dan e to put something of the sort into MirageOS, but he's to busy with other things.
I don't have internet access at my house now so i can't do squat.
Lagging?...never heard of lagging in mario before. Heard of a line appearing in the middle, But I assumed that was the hud code.

hey, are you the link cable [texaskabel] guy? I bought a cable from you
Very interesting to finally see for myself how the crooked screen looks like.
We'll need some more information for your problem, what OS do you have etc. Most likely just an error code doesn't say anything to us. Usually if an install fails you reboot and try again.

wait, why do you say that you are having problems with an 84+SE in the first post, and yet you post a picture of an 83+? I haven't heard of any 83+'s having problems with the lcd driver, only 84's.
If you are having problems on more than one calc with this, chances are it's not the lcd driver. Maybe you somehow got a corrupted version of mirage.

it's common for 84 series, but not 83+'s. Other than this, has anyone heard of an 83+ needing the lcd fix program?
