Music
My last attempt at discussion in here turned out to be a little too controversial. Hopefully this one will leave things in much finer fettle
What kind of music are you most partial to? (Just about everyone says they like all kinds of music, but typically prefer one style over another). In addition, list a few of the bands you like.
Me, I am most partial to hardcore/screamo type stuff.
Examples: Spirit of Versailles, Taken, Saetia, Orchid, City of Caterpillar, and Usurp Synapse.
Your turn.
NOTE: Don't comment on or criticize others' music, please. Just post your list and take up any comments in a PM. Thanks

Well, I like some of the heavy metal music. Metallica for example. I also like Linkin park, and I've been listening to Nightwish lately.
Also, for the last few days I've been listening to the Lord of the Rings movie soundtracks as I work. I like John Williams music, and some classical as well.

My taste for music generally fits into 4 categories:
> Chillout
> Goa
> Metal/Rock
> Misc
My favorite bands/groups/projects always have a unique sound to them, especially in their vocals.
Chillout
Anything to relax to, from reggae to psy ambient, trip hop to a little jazz.

Shpongle - Are You Shpongled?

Shpongle - Remixes
Goa
My most recent fav genre, my favorites cover mostly the most "organic" projects I know. Don't like the more trancy stuff. The use of highly distorted electric guitars or sound samples quoting famous influences on culture or psychedelics is the win. Favorite stuff as far as I know: (I don't always check the names of songs I hear that I like)

I listen mostly to creative metal- not particularly into more hardcore forms, but I find that metal has more room for experimentation than almost any other genre. My favorites:
Blind Guardian
Sieges Even
Ayreon
Pain of Salvation
Saurom
Devil Doll
Haggard
Manticora
Thy Majestie
...in no particular order.
