Wait, what are the main abilities of Magic?

The abilities that cards from ALL CARD SETS can have?

Like trample, first strike, haste, flying. What else is there that isn't card set specific? Like bushido only appeared in the Kamigawa block.

If you have the core abilities built in, and then the extra abilities as dlls, and your deck external and made with a computer script...

then it might be possible.

the easiest thing to make, just taking a starter deck like portal 2nd age... those decks had the most basic gameplay of magic.

I only made the suggestion because I just finished reading about C structures and pointers.

thing is, there are cards like necropotence, black lotus, the tutors, eldilions (sp?), slivers (programming nightmare), etc. that are all complex AND are a major part of the game.

no they are not. they extend the game, but are not neccesary. Magic Start and Advanced are necceasy cards, but "expert" cards are defently not.

Perhaps I'll look into it in the future when I've learned more (and have more free time XD). Then, I might consider writing a simple 68k Magic the Gathering Game.

How do you write level/card/data editors on the computer? In a computer language?

edit: What's everybody's opinion of that console game: Magic: Battlegrounds?
