of course...I dont think an actual game would work, but I think a titlescreen most definitely. I think it worked fairly good on my 84+ SE...but I'll have to check out this updated version...

Hmm, a few of them are okay, but for most of them he could have done a lot more in those pictures with 7 shades of grey.MetalHead25 wrote:DAMN!
he made some awesome pics!
It also would've been a lot more useful if he had released the source of that thing...

Hey well its obviously a trade secret, which would be pointless. Its nice but I need to see more practical application, like in a game.
Long retired from this forum. For all of those who are still coding here back from the days I posted, rock on.

I went into the debugger with, I gotta give this credit, he came up with an interesting use of the stack. Rather that reading the bytes by using (hl) or (ix), he POPs the data out of the buffers and goes through a very elaborate masking method.
It resembles(it's not) the patteren dithering you would get from MSpaint. That looks like the source to the more flawless grey.
Quite clever, though it doesn't look like it could be used for interrupt based grey.

Depends on what you mean by quality, Rigview was the first flickerless solid 4 color grey. If you mean the lack of color then yeah it has less quality. This only has a mild flicker, pretty good with all things considered.
What I am really surpirsed with is the fact that he doesn't prebuffer anything. you'd think it would be to slow but it's not.
