The Calcs can achive 4 level (some calcs can have greyscale, and I think it some cool survival horror games came out for the calcs. The closest thing I've seen is Desolate (blood and all) but I realy think a game like Resident Evil or Silent Hill or Clock Tower would be neat...post your ideas of what would be neat to see. I have always thought a flashlight that limits your vision to a narrow beam would be cool, especialy if there were bright 'reflections' when the light hits head on something. A gritty, dirty, filth littered enviroment wouldnt hurt either.
over head would likely look the best and be easiest, but if anyone ever makes a decent greyscale raycasting package for the 83+/SE, it would be possible.
no likely (unless you can super optimise basic so it can produce multi-level greyscale and produces shadows and manage complex enemy AI in a timely fasion)
I think Jim e did it and it's on his website, but his URL is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long and I am too lazy to go on Omnimaga to find the link in the 80 link long page
just imagine how it would look with a flashlight limitation...wait, I made one http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v491/ ... ample2.bmp
It would be realy freaky if your battery slowly died and it it got continously dimmer

Wow even cooler, but now this would absolutely need to be asm and keep in mind that the 83+ LCD cannot do Blinded by the Dark because it's a slow driver that need a delay everytime its accesed and it doesnt have a memory mapped display

Oh, well, that might be possible, but I am not sure again, as it has never been tried. Also try to not double-post without a signifiant amount of time between your two post
