WOW i haven't posted in a long time....

okay so my screenshot maker won't respond and i've tried everything, so i'm not makin a screenie anytime soon.

I've started on the graphics for the battle engine and they're comin along nicely. It turns out that the battle engine is going to be like a final fantasy battle engine with a few twists.

in FF1 through whatever the battles were turn based so u select one of ur guys to attack a slime or sumthin and he attacks immediately, but in Polis u have ur guys decide to do stuff like: attack

, defend

, pray to some god/goddess

, use an item

, or run

. Then once everyone has someting to do, the action happens in this order: Run, Defend, Pray, Item, Attack(ur side always does the action first(you attack before they do

)). so the battles are slightly turn based

well ive got all the big sprites for attack, defend, and idle done for both ur side and ur opponent's side
and just in case u were wonderin the sprites for defend and idle are 16x16 and attack is 32x16
i think that the praying sprite will be 16x16 or 24x16 and the use item sprite will be 24x16 or 16x16 depending on which kind of item you use(support/healing and attack/bombard)

cause thats what the lists are in, there are some graphs in 'em
and yes i'm still working on this game
I just get bored after a while so I switch gears and work on something else for a while

Edit: all other hosting sites suck so far so I'm sorry but Im not going to host the things on any other sites

but on the bright side Im redrawing the tilemaps so they can fit together.

well I'm working on the battle engine now so that the system can use combos. it's just so confusing sometimes

school officially started today but classes start tomorrow so I'm probably going to get alot of other stuff done in all my boring classes
i'll try to update soon
