Huh? Since when do film ratings apply?

koolmansam375 is making an assembly game, no? Ticalc and other ASM nexuses clearly have their own unique standards and their own ranking criteria. I think it would be most productive for us to focus on those.

I dunno. If you have a scene where it shows lots of converted pr0n images then I'll consider it R rated. especially if theyre hot Asian chicks.

You know, before I said that blood = M rating, but I take that back now. Age of Empires has blood....sort of, and it's only rated T.

EDIT: 400th post! O_O I think I'm becoming obsessed with calculators.

The ESRB is for videogames, how did we start talking 'bout movie ratings?

And yes this would be ASM. If I sent it to ticalc for "filing" i would be banned from ticalc for life :D .

If it only has blood most of the time its rated T, expecially if its "cartoonish" style"

blood AND gore = M rating

Well, how do you define gore then? In Age of Empires you see people decaying. Does gore mean like people getting ripped into bloody giblets like in UT?

There is a little-known 2D shooter on 82 called Little Dude and it created 8x8 blood smears whenever you killed an enemy. Of course, we're talking about blasting aliens here, so it wasn't homicide in the strictest sense. Anyway, the author never got much flak from ticalc, so aside from maybe a raised eyebrow or two I think you're in the clear. ...If you keep things moderate.

M rating:

Uses Violence, gore, blood, sexual themes, adult language, innapropriate material (eg killing for fun, theft, rape, etc).

Easiest way to do this:
Make the calculator explode if you lose the game.

R (Cannot attend without a parent under the age of 17)
X (I think you have to be 21 to attend)
You only have to be 18 to see X-Rated movies, I believe.

That what I'd like to know. Since everybody seems determined to get your thread off-topic, I'll just add one more statement and say that regardless of what standards are out there, this is your creation so the material is totally dependent on what you want the game to accomplish.

In the meantime, Ticalc is probably the best place to go for content advice, so I'd maybe get in touch with Niklas, Joey and any new archivers [staff directory here].

Keep us posted!

Once is not a lot. And I think it's realistic in the sense that I too would be inclined to curse in the same situation.
just try to be nice to people.
