I think i remember you.. :o It's been so long. I've really not done anything in the programming world since around 1 year ago. I've had to spend alot of time in school. Anyways yeah I was going to sell this at one point but I've decided to just make it free after all people would just pirate it anways. :P

lol I might start TFS back up again some day right now I am more interested in making a FPS. I have a really good story in my head as well. TFS was more or less make the story as I go along.

Pretty impressive stuff Toaster, also good to see you drop in for a visit. I think that a really good story is essential for an FPS, since most of the commercial ones that come out these days try to sell themselves on cheesey graphical effects or online multiplayer rather than an in-depth sp experience.

Sad to see TFS fade away (for now), be sure to update us on your FPS as it progresses :).

Thanks tr1p1ea! It's good to see you around! :) I do have an alpha of the engine you can download it from here:
http://nanotech.pcriot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15

Some of the features are:
-Fully functional Menu system with options.
-Loading Screen
-3D Dynamic Grass/Clouds
-Bump Mapping
-Realtime Shadows
-Multiple Lights
-Solar Flare
-Full 3D water with reflection this is a part of the engine just no current release has shown this off as of yet.

Things I need to add:
-Physics???? Way way way future…
-AI hmm this is going to be a long hard road AI is no fun thing to code.
-Triggers/Effects
-Cinematics, Cutscenes
-Music/Character voices/Special Effects
-Maps/Level Design.
-More Complex Story(Full story isnt writen down yet and some minor details still have to be made.)

Note: To run this on older computers you must turn off bumpmapping, and realtime shadows. This is only if you get an error saying: "Graphic card does Not support stencil buffers." or if your computer is running it wayy to slow....

DJ Omnimaga wrote:Not the metroid you think :P, Idk what happened to Joe Metroid. They even locked the entire Metroid forum now. I am talking about a BASIC+xLIB Metroid clone I made but like ROL3 it's only for the Silver Edition. It was featured on ticalc.org in a news article. As for Zelda it's the old BASIC Zelda I did that had near 210 sub programs. Spencer's Zelda will pwn this litterally if it's released, same for Joe's metroid
Oh i see well too bad I was really looking forward to some of them games. I know i was going to make a game called monsters with basic+xlib but it never went anywhere. Mainly due to the fact that basic just isnt cut out for game making if you want the really good super fast stuff you got to use ASM.

Yes it is a texture in the game but its rendered in a different program! I use crazy bump to make all my bump maps. Then I use that to but them in my game the final texture might not look like this I havnt put it in my game yet although I am working on it. ;)
