That looks great. :) Why did you decide to write your own letter selector rather than using the letters over the keys on the calc? I don't think they're that hard to use.

When you give the user to type in their name it may not be surrported chars. for the engine and also some "noobs" may not be able to figure out to use alpha....

By "use alpha" do you mean lock the alpha on? You can take what they type in and convert it to letters without them having to press alpha(I did that a lot with getkey in a cypher program I wrote)

In any case, what you have works fine, and could be somewhat easier for someone less experienced with the calc. However, the only character that isn't on the calc alpha is -. Is that what you mean by supported chars? Or do you mean pushing keys with symbols you don't support? If you mean that, you could just have the calculator display nothing if they push some key that you don't support. I, did this in my program using the getkey function.

Edit: would you mind making your posts a little more clear? :)

Yes I am aware of the getkey way, but I decided to go with this! :D

Ok, it seems to work great for what you're using it for. I see how your way would be easier for the user, as long as you aren't typing a whole lot of text in. I can't wait to try out your game! :D

Hey, this is pretty sweet! The gameplay is kinda like that of "desolate." :) Are you going to publicly release a beta soon? 8)
