This is a quick idea I had for a title screen for my new rpg.

I'm not quite sure how to improve it, although I was going to add some helicopters in the background.

Also, would it be possible to send these images directly to my calculator? I had to copy them down using the pen tool earlier.

I fixed you post up so that it displays the images properly.

As far as getting them on your calc goes, download TI-Connect ( http://education.ti.com/educationportal ... nnect.html ) if you havent already done so and open up the 'TI ScreenCapture' application. You will be able to open your image (or paste it from the clipboard) and save it as a TIOS .8XI image file, which you can send to your calculator ... no pen tool required! :).

On that note, i really like the 1st one ... maybe with some helicopters it could be even better, great job :).

I think a combination of the first and the third would look best, by superimposing the reflection on the water pattern. This would basically mean that you’d use a darker pattern, but still not a complete fill, where both images are black.

What do you think. I tried four ways that would result in what you were talking about :)

If you think of anything better feel free to suggest replacing the whole thing with something new. I'm open to new ideas at the moment :)

Heres what the game looks like at the moment:

The first one is the winner without doubt.

Ok, I'll try to worth that one and the 4th together (I tried it alone and it doesn't look quite as good on the calc)

Yes, the first one looks very nice, I'd keep it. :)

Agreed, but it doesn't really look like water anymore. Looks just like shadows on the ground. But maybe it wasn't supposed to be water in the first place, so it's all ok. L:)

I agree, so for now I'm falling back on the third pic in the original post.

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to use text sprites to do a sort of pseudo greyscale. Heres my idea so far (The textures must be 5,5 or 6,5:

Have you thought about possibly animating it? I also like the one that CoBB nominated :).

Actually I have. Randomly turning the water pixels on and off making a shimmering look. Maybe some moving pixels in the back for some random aircraft supposedly in that city :o

The one CoBB picked is my favorite, but the new title SS looks great too. I would like to suggest you use xLib on this site with this project, it would allow you to have more possibilities for graphics (improve speed but displaying maps almost instantly).

Wow this xlib thing sure looks cool! I'll give it a try

BTW, what's the thing people use to take animated screencaps from their calc? :? )

Oh, that would be an emulator. The 2 best flavours are PindurTI and Wabbit:

Would you like me to move this thread to the 'Announce Your Projects' section?

Yes please, that would be nice.

I've decided not to use the xLib thing since I want this to be more of a 100% moose type program :)

However, I am looking for ideas for some textures. I've already added roadblocks (thinking about fire) some bricks, walls, but thats it. Well, those and some trees :x

Heres the latest screencap (no textures used, but ill be editing soon with some sampes)
