If I use an SD card with the M3-Perfect SD will it stick out at all?

ok, this is probably a really stupid question, but what does the ds run on? is it linux-based to begin with?

No, running a gaming console on an operating system designed to operate on a broad range of hardware configurations is not a great idea. It runs on its own DS specific operating system. Though just because Nintendo didnt do it, doesnt mean that the linux buffs werent automatically lured to it. There is DSLinux after all (http://www.dslinux.org/) :).

Im not sure about the M3 Perfect, i think it might stick out a little. Also depends on whether you have an older DS or a Lite.

Well I don't have a lite. :/ I was really hoping for something that didn't stick out.

I have a flash extremem card so that sticks out like a centimeter, so if its less than that I don't mind at all. Now if I had a DS lite I would but I don't for see myself getting one just cause its lighter and brighter.

What about Nintendos offical devkit, where are those?

Edit:
Just wondering how game developers get theres.

you can buy them. there is a website for devs from nintendo, where you can order them. they are rather expensive iirc... about $500.000 or something. you get a license with them, which gives you the right to use the 'qulait of nintendo seal'-thingy

Im not sure how much DS Dev-kits are, but they are a bit. Plus you cant just be any old joe, you have to be a proper game dev studio with some credentials.

Microsoft are really doing the game development community a massive favour with XNA ($99/year to develop games for the Xbox 360 isn't to be sneezed at!) Hopefully other console manufacturers will follow suit.

In the meantime, I look forwards to seeing what you chaps manage to produce!

The Wii will have a similiar 'Arcade'-thingie, IIRC. Chances are high that a lot of small game-'companies' will hop on that.

Would have been nice if the DS had a mini arcade were you could download games. I hope nintendo will have something for indie devlopers.

I doubt the credentials are high, probably just have to be recognized as a corporation and have some background in coding.

I guess that as soon as the Wii launches, you can download (mini)games and demo's from the Wii-Arcade to your DS.

Sony for the PS3 allows for indie developers to sign up for free to get onto their type of live network. The game has to be shown to them and they approve it, but it is really easy to do you just go to there website and enter in the information.

As kv83 stated the dev kit is around 500 bucks. I thought I read somewhere that the psp one was like 4000 bucks so 500 bucks isnt bad at all! Doesnt matter anyhow because all of the UMDS have to be made by sony anyhow. So I will stick to programming games to play from the memory stick.
