Project Cartel

Post by Shawshank87 »

I am currently working on a new project temporarily entitled "Project Cartel." The final name will be announced at a later date. I am also keeping story line information confidential. However, I am ready announce the capibilities of the game engine at the current state:

4 Level Greyscale (thanks to Duck)
Up to 16 items onscreen at once
Items have position and sprite variables, as well as 20 more variables for individual use
Each item can have unlimited continuous functions (called every loop) and collision functions
Custom text engine with custom text
An item can be held in each hand, and even combined
All I will say at the current moment is that it is a puzzle game, with aspects similar to Resident Evil's

See the graphic below.

lOOKS COOL-damn the caps lock key-Kinda like a mixture between desolate and your catch22 :D. I notice the same type of gameplay as desolate, but the gfx are most definitely catch. Anyway, can't wait for it to come out.

yeah, it's a bit like desolate, but the puzzles will be thought provoking. what i show you in the little demo is nothing, just kinda showcasing the games features.

That game looks awesome Shawshank!

The more I see awesome games like this in the making, it make me want to learn some more ASM. I've been studying the "Asm in 28 days tutorial", but several things tend to make me lose hope.
1. Complexity
2. Time
3. Compiling Errors( I eventually fixed them)

Oh well, eventually I'll learn! :)

Can I put in a huge request?
The ability to set greyscale frequency and contrast level in game, like I did in Repton.

Damn, I need to rewrite Repton at some point - the code is appalling!

yeah, the greyscale things ill make available on the pause scree (thats easy enough). Also, it is four level greyscale for the levels themselves, but the objects in the levels can only use three levels because of the maked sprite routine. And as for the setting, little to none of the graphics currently in use will be in the final game, i used them for demo/testing purposes only. However, I will say that the game will feature 3 distinct settings, all of which are part of the same story line. And I must remind that the puzzle you see is nothing, the game will truely showcase some of the harder puzzles seen on a TI-83. Thanks for all of the support guys, I may post some more screens later on this week.
