Announcing: DIABLO2D:LOD in ASM!

Post by Shadow Phoenix »

I have created a DIablo game in BASICS already, so i thought i would try to "port"(means re-write) it to asm. I already got it to change events/different maps, and now im googling to find how to save pics in ASM. I figured out it is suppos to be something like this :
db. 0000001010010100110011001
0001101010101001010111010
but TI studio doesnt import correctly :(
and i still didnt find the BCALL for points...but
trust me the game is gonna be AWSOME. Its gonna be FF or VTF fighting style.
I am gonna be able to make IT AWSOME!!!! Since in BASIC i was forced to use only 9 graphics gr.... SO ill be able to make A LOT of enemys/maps/items in ASM.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Diablo just isn't Diablo at all if it's not live-action..

If you really wanted to, you could do graphics in BASIC using omnicalc's sprite function. Much better that way..

NO BASIC! Please stay away from basic. I can't see a Diablo game turning out the way I want if there is anything written in basic. (no offense to those guys who make cool RPG's with it)

Indeed... the whole concept of diablo is based on real time hack-and-slash (and of course online gaming)... playing diablo like ff, is like playing zelda like super mario :?

Sorry to be off topic kv83, but there actually is a nes zelda game that is like mario. I forget the name of it though :P. I do agree that Diablo should be real time however.

Zelda II: Links Adventures, which s**** ass in my opinion... there is a good reason that they never ever did something like that again

Yeah Diablo should be real time and preferably isometric since else it will resemble Zelda too much...hmmm nice idea :)

Ohhh, be carefull there! Its quite an original game, combining RPG-elements with a platformer. Also, gameplay is good. I dont understand why so many people complain about it.

ALPHA VER - NEX WEEK

Post by Shadow Phoenix »

Alpha will be realeased as soon as I get the hang of "pointson"(spriting) and pic drawing.....
WHICH WILL BE NEXT WEEK!
i hope.

2 QUESTIONS:
1. how can i make my guy move left AND down or up at the same time?
2. Should I just do INC or should i add 2 to the movement?

Depends on what you're doing. Since Diablo is great do to real time, why not go for direct input?
