progress is slow. I have multiple enemies now. Haven't got the police guys done yet. Most of my time these days is spent researching 3D techniques for PC games. >:)

How come? Do you have a crappy computer? Dr. Snipe runs slow on old computers and it doesn't work with old gfx cards either. Try playing it on a newer computer. One thing that gets really laggy on old computers is the flame effects because they produce too many particles. Also what exactly do you mean by software based 3D?

You should try to make it compatible with most comps even those with 8 MB GFx card, because people doesnt want to buy a new comp every year

I mean having the software do all of the GFX...my comp has a crappy Aureal A3D card that isn't supported but some games like quake have options that use NO 3D card

Hey, you don't have to get one every year- heck the computers at my school run Dr. Snipe okay and those aren't exactly gaming computers either. :P I dun know what the requirements are but I bet it would help if you had at least a Radeon 9600(a rather old one now) gfx card. $169.99 at best buy.

Erm...the first Dr. Snipe isn't really comparable to anything but the original Doom. It was more of an experiment with 3D stuff and online multiplayer than anything else. And Dr. Snipe 2 will probably have gfx more comparable to Jet Force Gemini for the N64 than Halo lol, but a least it will be full 3D with z detection and stuff. If I'm really lucky and can get some good 3D modellers working on it then I may even get up to Goldeneye or Perfect Dark gfx. I already have mouse look, stairs, jumping/crouching, z collisions, and all that good stuff figured out. No real coding yet tho just experiments and stuff- I want to finish up GTA and do some more research into loading 3D models and objects first. I haven't really figured out how to load 3D models yet. Having problems with them appearing invisible or rotated wierd and stuff like that. :( I haven't even started trying to make vehicles or massive multiplayer yet.

hmm, this forum needs a 'report topic' button. *requests a mod or something to split the topic* :) Split it at this post plez. Give it the name Dr. Snipe or something
