you need masks... badly

Your sprites overwrite the floor, with a mask, and a inverted sprite image you can or the mask, then xor the sprite, and when you move just overwrite with the floor tile(s), it might hinder speed by a minute amount, but it's make the gfx show all the better.

ooo, u talkin bout the strange white border on npcs and such? :x yeh i see wat ur sayin...looks kinda cheesy AHA....(i'll try and add that sumtime...) (so when i do this.......i call the map first then apply the mask and inverted sprite?) alrite thx man :wink: peace



Ergh...yeh dat might slow things down a bit....err...crap...

nono ^^ you put the map onscreen, then call the mask (no update) then call the sprite, then (if you do this) wait for a key to be pressed, and call the map (unupdate) I think...

Yeah, I had about 3 masks going at once and it was still too fast for no delay.

K... hm i spent some time yestaday rewriting the code for the movement and i think it moves a bit faster now on the black calc! (im still not satisfied...err... :P ) On the SE its like blazing fast, fasta than it was before... B) but the code isnt complete yet... hopefully i can maintain the speeeeeed check it \/ .....


(AHA i forgot ta uses Axesoff wat ev...)
(still havent applied a mask as u can see...)

wow, this game looks great. I'm always happy to see new programmers making these great projects. :)

Now if only everyone programmed as fast as L4E_WakaMol-King, and released a playable demo as fast... :mrgreen:

hey sup peeps.... some lil updates (screens)

-i added switches and sumthin else um and the speed has been consistent AHA...wurd (contrast setting is a bit weird....wat ev)

I started werkin on da battle a lil bit... man check it... its got a ToP inspired style AHA...

once i finish the battle, i will be able to finish some areas and start the map... meaning... A DEMO of the FIRST AREA WHOO.... but das when i finish... the battle... :( heh wurd yo... :P

nice indeed. what kind of battle system are you planning to use... seems to me you can move your char?
