Violent/bloody/non-disney sketches for my comic project

Post by necro »

here are 2 test pics from a comic I am going to attempt called Urbania:

not very bloody: prisoner/narrator

bloddier: little kid holding a woman's head

as you can see, they are pretty rough and quick...the story is nearly fully scripted and I plan to start making this latter this spring. Also, this thread has been censored so...there you go...you censorship lovers

necro ...... Why are you into gore and violence so much?

That aside, the sketches are pretty decent.

I don't think I'll be reading that comic, though.

why not? The story is brutal and incorporates a nice bit of romance to as well as many social themes...the little kid holding a woman's head...well, that should be a fun scene. Should take quite a while to make though, it has 10 chapters and a prolouge.

In case you wanted to know, both were done in about a minute. Right now I am trying to figure out drawling them from certainangles and all.

I don't mind gore, I find it kinda fun to sketch some rather questionable things. Like a severed pig head with a huge axe splitting the skull to reveal some of the innards with the title "Swines, fortunately you're at the top of the food chain.". I drew it in an attempt to make people around here understand it's bad behaviour to simply throw trash on the floor in the recycling room/station/whatnot and let the janitor take care of it. Worked reasonably for a week :P Would like to see those "swines" fined for littering.

Anyway, posting pics like the ones way up in a peaceful place like the MC forums seems a little off, you should either label your thread appropriately or preferrably only post links to the pics.

Gore's fine so long as it has a purpose. Johnny The Homicidal Maniac, for instance, is a brilliant comic. Gore for gore's sake is just dumb. So I guess it depends on where you go with this.

Those are really nice, necro. But I would make the woman's head grin :D.
And why is there a 4 on the boy's shirt?

It's a dumb fashion in america to where a shirt that looks like a sports jersey, even if you are so fat you can't walk.

would you grin if you were decapitated by a crazy little kid who also cut open your kid's faces? And, indeed, the four thing is just that, an american trend.

Showing gore in public places with or without purpose in mind is hardly ever a good idea. Some people truly don't like gore and seeing these images pop up in a topic titled "non-pixel art ok?" can hurt. If people want to see explicit gore, then they should go to sites which are made for gore, there's some rather interesting material online :P

maybe its just me but neither seemed that gorey to me...any ways, the story is violent. The story is not about violence. The story is about a person who has things happen to him and he retaliates, the violence is part of the brutality of the message the story is meant to convey. Would pulp fiction be pulp fiction with out the violence? No. Will there be cursing. Yes. Why, to fit the brutality. If some one doesn't like gore, well, go onto disney.com or babies'r'us or something.
