do people have an effect on radio waves? I mean at the mall (work) when no one is in the building, I get 3 or 4 bars; but when the mall is crowded, I lose all bars...

Yeah, those signals get absorbed by water and nearby people can throw off the antenna tuning. I'll bet all the crazy mall gizmos add some problems of their own.

Yep, I'm thinking the same thing happens to my radio in our computer lab. I tried AM and FM. Couldn't get squat.

Well, hey, even calcs transmit AM. With all the more electricity computers are using, they must emit much more interference.

I thought that the blue effect is caused by overloading the linkport?

No, it's caused by some assembly command putting your lcd(or parts of it) into test mode or something. Even a crashing asm program can cause a blue screen sometimes.
