Yeah, those signals get absorbed by water and nearby people can throw off the antenna tuning. I'll bet all the crazy mall gizmos add some problems of their own.

Yep, I'm thinking the same thing happens to my radio in our computer lab. I tried AM and FM. Couldn't get squat.
