I'd go for a 6600GT or a 6800, probably just with 128mb. I think they both come in AGP. There's not much point getting anything better because you can just get a next gen card sooner if you don't spend as much now and current games run pretty well on the 6800, even with my 2800+.Shadow Phoenix wrote:As for the X700 its for the PCI-X. I too am working, but only 8 hours/day. Since I'm hourly as an intern, they don't want me to get time and a half overtime. I probably wouldn't want to work more anyway, since I find it a bit dull, and am making decent money anyway. If only a third of it didn't go to stupid taxes... I have to figure out how these allowances work, because I shouldn't have to pay tax on the first $4000 (I think) of earned income, and it doesn't make sense to get a huge refund next year because I would lose the interest ($100+) on the withholdings.

Are you sure it is the power supply? Symptoms will be hard drive having trouble spinning up, video not coming on, etc. If you have a generic PSU, it is possibly overrated (lists peak power instead of sustained), or has the rail currents set up i a stupid way.
My Fortron 300W (cuts out at 390W) handles my XP 2800+ and 6800 fine, unless it is warm in the room.
