I think this is one of those things that takes the cake for coolest idea. heh wish I could do that....

PS: yes he IS flying, holding altitude at 2000 ft he said at the end of the vid.

Here's plans for a jet engine you can make. They used to have plans for a propane-powered(used common grill propane tanks) jet that had no moving parts. They made a rocket-bike with it that went over 60 mph. Also, a go cart that could go over 120. They also augmented some cars with it with great results. Apparently, they are switching over to a new design now.

They may be taking advantage of a camara effect that makes skydivers look like they're flying over the tops of trees. I don't have any sound. Are those things actually running? And where's the exhaust trail?

he would have had to still be falling because of his angle. If he were to maintain a steady altitude he would have to be angled up to deal with gravity. Planes don't need that because of their wings, but he is lacking wings so it would only push him forward. And if he were angled up he would need alot of back power to keep from being fliped from the air resistance.

Still nice BOOTS :D :D

Man I want to skydive
(I think he jumped from a balloon. intresting and very effective)

It looks like he has some sort of flaps that could act like wings?

oh comeon, yes it's flying. IF you use the right propellants it won't leave a trail, PLUS they wouldn't make much of one if they did.

OK he's at 2000 feet, and he's wearing a bodyvest similar to that of a flying squirrl they do have them and they're made so when skydiving you can glide around a bit. If you noticed he was wearing the fuel tanks in hot water bottles strapped and tubed on his vest. Flight times aren't significant as using two jets on maybe 1.5 quarts of fuel wouldn't last long. so yes he has wings and yes he would fly. heh that looks so fun...

A bodyvest isn't a wing: it provides downward drag, not lift. If he had wings, his body would have to support his own weight, plus the weight of his engines, tank, parachute, plus the massive drag caused by all four. The only smoke I see here is a lot of smoke and mirrors.

I think he dug his grave with that "leveling off" stuff. Where is his website? I wanna see some diagrams here.

no clue, but it looks intriguing none the less, look in the gas turbine section in the forums of www.pulse-jets.com I'm not sure how he does it either, but it looks like it would work, if just for a short time.
