Duke Nukem z80

Post by kalan_vod »

I think it would be cool to have a Duke Nukem game for z80s, one like Duke Nukem 68k. I was planning on doing this with xLIB, but it would be too slow. If anyone would like to work on this in asm or something I would LOVE to see it!

I have some 16x16 Duke (II) sprites and a walk loop, but they are a bit ugly. :(
Duke Nukem is a great game :)

I have a greyscale titlescreen that I made for cobra, I was testing out the text at the bottom....ironically the character is duke nukem.
So we have a titlescreen done as well!

I must have lost the .gst file for it, but I still have the little demo so I used PTI to get a screenshot, then converted that to .bmp. I will upload it to calcGS and fix it up a bit and post it here hopefully later tonight.

well here it is, still working on it, but you get the look at least.
I even mad more of a cartoony type one, a little bit different than this one, but has smoke coming from the gun.

They're massive (16x24) and utter rubbish! There's a reason I don't like doing pixel art...

Wow, that looks great, maybe if I could tone it down to 16x16...

Ben they look very nice.

Kalan, I would much rather see Res or Chips challange finished before you picked this project up. Too many projects at once can cause more problems than you might be ready to face, leading to discouragement, rushed projects or just all together crap.

Call it Duke Nukem Forever, and you'll never have to finish it.

Just keep setting release dates, giving progress reports, and putting out a few screenshots. You don't have to do much of anything.

If you ever do finish it, you could do a net-wide release like xlib xlib revolution, and make it to #1 downloaded file on ticalc.org. You know how many people have been waiting for that game?
