I was thinking, maybe if someone did a remake of the old prince of persia game for the calculator, or something from the prince of persia universe, it would look pretty awesome

hmm.... not a bad idea. I've never played the hand held version, but I'm guessing an engine similar to N-Game would work okay?

It's imcomplete as far as I can tell. It's suppose to be a demo. It'd be cool if it could be ported to 83+, but I don't think I have the skills for that. I'm still really new at programming.

all i know is that an engine similar to prince of persia is too hard for me yet. Even in its old version, the physics were extremely realistic in the way you interacted with the environment.
Maybe looks possible in an extremist sort of basic, but actually i think it would run better in ASM anyway

I wouldn't call the mechanics in PoP physics, the game just had really good animations.
PoP maps , which I looked for when I started on this project myself. Didn't like the idea of jotting down every single level though
Btw, don't anybody dare disgrace this game by making it in basic

...or have controls that handle as badly as the SMS port. *shudders*

I played the GC or PS2 version and loved it. I was really dissapointed with the original though, even though it was pretty old.

The original was awesome back in the day. The animation was way above anything else for its time.
Of course if you were expecting big things from an old game ... you are likely to be disappointed.

I really miss those times. There were so many breakthroughs back then... And whole new genres kept emerging. Where's that innovative force today?

They cheated though, and used rotoscoping

It would be pretty difficult to reproduce the realistic feeling of the jumps, the swordfights, not to mention recreating the animations et cetera... But it would probably be doable, since it isn't very demanding on the hardware, and it would be worth it... Prince of Persia was an incredible game
