I got a chance to play with one this week, and I must say it's a lot of fun :) Unfortunately the controller didn't always respond as I expected it to, but I suppose it wasn't properly calibrated as the guy who owns the thing isn't very technology minded.

there is no calibration afaik... only zelda let's you calibrate it, but it's not really a huge difference. Some games just don't respond as expected, i.e. boxing. You have to keep in mind though that this are first-generation games from developers which had no experience with the new controller at all :)

Well lots of games are not meant to be 1:1 with the controller. They simply detect movement and will react depending on other, like timing for boxing. You cant swing like crazy really fast in boxing, its better to do things slower and more direct.

Actually, swinging faster works to a point. But you do have to give the game enough time to execute animations. But games like Madden and Zelda have decently responses. Well, that's compared to Wii sports, so it could probably only get better. :)

Yes swinging faster works to a point, like in tennis and bowling, but its not how you are supposed to play all of the games. Zelda is an awesome game, i love it, although i dont get heaps of time to play :(.

One could make the length of an animation variable so that it matches the speed precisely as it is detected by the controller.

In boxing I would've expected there to be far more to it than timing.

Hopefully future devvers will actually take the time to bother to learn how to use the controller they develop for.

Wii Weather Channel has gone live, update your Wii's NOW!

Check out the cool 3D globe and check the weather ANYWHERE!

Yeah, it's a nice feature... but only for a couple of minutes... after that i'll propably will never check it again. However, there are some awesome opppertunities; using the weatherchannel in game! Imagine you are playing Madden or Fifa and the weather is realtime. So, when it's raining in new york, it's raining in the game aswell... or you are playing animal crossing, and when it's snowing outside, it's also snowing ingame!
