Transparent windows during movement are cool too, you're right blueskies. That's one of the things I haven't turned on again since my last reinstall... Anyways, I like to put my hardware to some good use, AND Compiz desktop effects is AT LEAST as convincing to get people to give Ubuntu a try as the topic of security is. Probably more, because the demo effect is bigger. Don't even START about network oriented design or the legacy of the Unix mainframes versus the commercial crapt Microsoft forces onto people... just show a few flashy effects and the fact that you can use MSN and YouTube and they're sold...
