A good engine for this game is more import that graphics. Graphics are important for this game too, but if the engine sucks, the whole game will suck, no matter how good your graphics are.

I think using the Marioish style HUD would work the best. I wouldn't really mind seeing 8 pixels less of the map. And, as you said, performance would be upped a notch.

Does anyone know of any good, free AVI to SVC converter programs? I have a whole bunch of progrms right now that I have to use to split up AIV files then merge em all together and then convert ot SVC, which is a hassle. Does anyone know of any programs that can do all this in one step? Thanks!
